Challenge

Bridging the Gap in Global Knowledge Production.

Simple List emerged to meet a booming global demand for accurate primary source data from Nigeria and Africa. The mission was twofold: to provide academics, multinational institutions, and governments with curated archival research and to empower underpaid Nigerian researchers by enabling fair trade terms in the knowledge economy. We were tasked with creating an identity that felt "nerdy" yet authoritative, drawing inspiration from industry leaders like The Republic Journal and Stears.

A Sophisticated Visual Language for the Modern Researcher.

The final brand system utilizes a palette of black, blue, and gold, set against a distinct "Sahara Desert" thematic backdrop to reflect the brand's regional roots. To maintain an archival feel, we implemented a strict art direction using black and white human photography combined with high-quality, unique designs. The result is a brand that feels as swift and sharp as a falcon, positioning Simple List as a leading force in Nigeria’s media and knowledge industries.
